This is a vintage and original 1959 one of a kind men's adventure magazine interior illustration artwork. A shocking scene of an exotic land torn apart by the overwhelming force and violence of an erupting volcano. An island native falls to his knees in the background as a damsel and her beau run terrified away from the oncoming lava and ash. This grayscale gouache illustration on board is an excellent example of the action packed artwork seen in the numerous popular men's magazine titles of this era. We haven't identified where this was published but the notations on the verso indicate it appeared in an October 1959 issue. By well-listed American illustrator Jack Faragasso
